Biography of Billie Piper

Making her West End debut in 2007!

Billie Piper was born in Swindon, England on September 22nd 1982. She first rose to fame at the tender age of fifteen, when her single "Because We Want To" made her the youngest artist to debut at number one in the UK singles chart. She went on to have further number one hits with "Girlfriend" and "Day and Night" as well as many other top ten entries.

Billie quit the music scene to concentrate on her initial aim, to be a successful actor. After earning respect with her roles in BBC's The Canterbury Tales and a movie role alongside Orlando Bloom in The Calcium Kid, Billie landed the coveted role of Doctor Who's sidekick Rose Tyler.

After a successful return to television for Doctor Who, Billie Piper received various awards and accolades for her role. However, Billie announced that she would be leaving the show at the end of the second series. She has since signed to star in the lead role in ITV's Mansfield Park as well as making her much-anticipated West End debut in Treats. As her career suggests, Treats is likely to be another huge success for Billie Piper.
