Aoife Mulholland was a 28 year old student from Galway, Ireland before she was propelled to fame in hugely successful BBC television series, 'How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?.' This young Irish actress has studied at University College, Dublin for a degree in music. Aoife was studying for an MA in Acting and Musical Theatre at the Central School of Speech and Theatre in London before appearing in Andrew Lloyd Webber's search for Maria in 2006.
Aoife Mulholland made it to the final 5 of the contest to find the new Maria Von Trapp for Lloyd Webber's production of The Sound of Music. Although Aoife was knocked out of the competition, she had demonstrated to a huge audience her impressive talent for acting, singing and dancing. Aoife had already found a fan base and after the show, was signed by agents, Curtis Brown.
Aoife Mulholland is now starring in hot London musical Chicago. Aoife steps into the shoes of many famous and talented actresses who have already performed the role of Roxie Hart. This demanding role involves show-stopping musical numbers, dazzling dance routines and acting talent: all of which Aoife takes in her stride to give a fabulous performance.
Aoife is on the heels of fellow 'How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria' contestant, Connie Fisher. Aoife is only the second contestant from the show to land a lead role in a West End show.
