Glasgow to host light festival

The city of Glasgow will host its biennial festival of light next month.

Radiance, the biennial festival of light held in Glasgow, will return to the city from November 23rd to 25th this year.

The event will see a number of artworks in light illuminate buildings, courtyards and various other structures around the city.

Internationally recognised artists will contribute to the festival including Xavier de Richemont, who will transform Glasgow Cathedral into a modern-day mural.

A designer known as UVA, whose creations have featured in Arctic Monkeys videos and Massive Attack stage shows, will also be displaying his work during the festival.

The event will take in some 50 locations along three different routes and will also offer walking tours and film and music events.

Scott Taylor, chief executive of the Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, said: "Radiance is an exciting and colourful addition to the city's winter events calendar.

"Glasgow is already a popular festive break destination thanks to its range of fabulous shopping and vibrant nightlife and Radiance, along with the rest of the city's Winterfest programme, is certain to enhance the visitor experience."
