A Wicked Cast Change

Looking for a Wicked night out on the West End? It's a great time to book a ticket for the West End show Wicked which has just announced cast changes effective from June 9 2008.

Monday 9th June will see Alexia Khadime step into the green shoes of Elphaba with Desmond Barrit donning the pointy hat of The Wizard. Also joining the cast are original cast member Caroling Keiff as Nessarose and Jeremy Legat as Boq. Current cast member Ashleigh Gray will become Standby Elphaba following the departure Cassidy Janson. From April 14th Madame Morrible will be played by Harriet Thorpe.

Current Elphaba Kerry Ellis will take her bow in the West End production on June 7th before heading to America. Ellis will play Elphaba in the Broadway production of Wicked before returning to the London show from December 1st 2008.

Wicked currently stars Dianne Pilkington as Glinda, Oliver Tompsett as Fiyero, Andy Mace as Doctor Dillamond and Sarah Earnshaw as Standby Glinday - all of whom have extended their contracts and will continue in their roles.

The hugely popular Wicked deals with Oz long before the arrival of Dorothy and her little dog. The production is based on the novel by Gregory Maguire and tells the story of two girls who meet in Oz, one beautiful and popular and the other green-skinned and smart destined to grow up and become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda The Good Witch.
