The Sound of Music cast changes

West End show The Sound of Music has announced cast changes effective from September 24th 2007.

The role of The Baroness will be played by Fionna Sinnot with Paul Grunert as Max, Amy Lennox as Liesl, Luke Fredericks as Rolf and, as previously announced, Simon Burke will be taking over the role of Captain Von Trapp. Connie Fisher currently stars as Maria for six performances a week. Fisher is confirmed in the role until 23rd February 2008. For the remaining two performances a week - Sunday evening and Wednesday matinees - the role of Maria is played by Aofie Mulholland. Margaret Preece also continues in her role of Mother Abbess.

This hit musical revives the tale of friendly nun-in-training Maria who is sent to look after the troublesome offspring of Captain Von Trapp. Initially meeting with stiff opposition from the children, Maria soon earns their love when she teaches them the joys of singing and finds herself falling in love with Captain Von Trapp. When the Nazi's take command of Austria the Captain is called back into service so the family must flee to Switzerland. A wonderfully uplifting musical, The Sound of Music will delight the whole family.
