The Opera's new youngest Phantom

An incredible hit, the West End production of The Phantom of The Opera is rapidly approaching its 21st London birthday and will see in the landmark event with a new Phantom in the cast.

Ramin Karimloo will take over the role of Phantom from 10th September and, at 28 years old, will be the youngest Phantom in the long history of the London production. Karimloo's theatre credits include Enjolras in Les Misérables and Chris in the 2005 touring production of Miss Saigon.

Australian Alex Rathgeber will also join the cast in the role of Raoul. With Australian theatre credits that include performances in Fiddler On The Roof, Kiss Me Kate and Camelot, Rathgeber will be making his West End debut in The Phantom of the Opera. Benjamin Lake will take over the role of Piangi.

Existing cast members include Robyn North and Leila Benn Harris who share the role of Christine, with Wendy Ferguson as Carlotta, James Barron as Monsieur Firmin, Sam Hillier as Monsieur André, Heather Jackson as Madame Giry and Lyndsey Wise as Meg Giry.

The Phantom of The Opera has grossed more than £1.7 billion worldwide - a figure higher than any film or stage play in history. On 9th October this year the show will celebrate it's 21st London birthday.
