New casts for West End musicals

October: a new month and new casts for many West End musicals. Top shows We Will Rock You, Boeing Boeing and Cabaret will all be welcoming new cast members from October 1st just as the new cast of The Sound of Music are settling in.

Playing at the Lyric Theatre, Cabaret will see new cast members Julian Clary and Amy Nuttall treading the boards. Clary is well known thanks to a long career in television and comedy. Having spent five years in ITV's Emmerdale, Amy Nuttall is a well known face on the West End thanks to roles in several shows including Boeing-Boeing where she played Gloria.

Replacing Amy Nuttall in Boeing Boeing is Jennifer Ellison. Along with a varied television career, Ellison has appeared in many West End productions inlcuding Chicago. Joining Ellison in Boeing Boeing is Tracy-Ann Oberman known for he role in Eastenders.

This month also sees a major cast change in the Queen musical We Will Rock You. Richard Afonso will now be stepping up to playing the role of Galileo having understudied the role for the last six months. Sabrina Aloueche will take over the role of Scaramouche while Julian Littman will step into Pop's sandals.

As the new cast members take to the boards for the first time, the new cast members of The Sound of Music will be entering their second week. From September 24th the role of The Baroness is being played by Fionna Sinnot with Paul Grunert as Max, Amy Lennox as Liesl, Luke Fredericks as Rolf and, as previously announced Simon Burke has now taken over the role of Captain Von Trapp.
