Brand New BBC Talent Show - I'd Do Anything!

The BBC and Andrew Lloyd Webber have recently announced that there will be a new reality show searching for the next Oliver Twist in 2008. Following on from the massive success of Any Dream Will Do and How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?, I'd Do Anything will also be looking for a Nancy as well as the three young actors to alternate in the role of Oliver.

The format that proved so successful for the BBC's previous ventures into reality talent search will remain, along with Graham Norton as host. Lloyd Webber will again be heavily involved as well as as-yet-unnamed judges, with Cameron Mackintosh joining the show.

Auditions for the show will begin early in 2008, with BBC1 scheduling a probable Saturday evening prime-time slot for the show later in the year. With the success of the Joseph and Sound of Music shows, a show based on the extremely popular musical Oliver will undoubtedly pull in many viewers as well as massive interest in the roles from prospective actors and singers.

The show could bring another major talent to the nation's attention, following the great opportunity that Lee Mead and Connie Fisher were presented with due to their involvement. With the chance of a major West End career on offer, the contestants will be willing to prove that they will do anything to land the role!
