Susan leaves the West End

Only one month after its press night and despite originally booking until 19 April 2008, Desperately Seeking Susan will close at the Novello theatre on 15 December.

Based on the film of the same name, Desperately Seeking Susan stars Kelly Price as bored New Jersey Housewife Roberta Glass who becomes fascinated by the life of New Yorker Susan, played by Emma Williams, after a series of messages in the personal ads. This new musical features the music of Blondie along with a new Deborah Harry song written especially for the production.

A statement released on behalf of the production read: "The producers wish to thank the talented cast, creative team and company for all their hard work and dedication to this performance." Whilst the musical received positive press ticket sales have been insufficient and producers have called time on the show. Desperately Seeking Susan is now the second consecutive musical to close early at the Novello theatre after The Drowsy Chaperone closed after two months earlier this year.At Holiday Extras we will continue to sell tickets for Desperately Seeking Susan until December 7th.
