Alistair McGowan joins Cabaret cast

The musical Cabaret will be joined by Alistair McGowan as the famed comedian and impressionist takes over in the role of emcee from Julian Clary from April 21st.

Alistair McGowan is best known for his BAFTA Award winning show The Big Impression which featured his impressions of celebrities including David Beckham, Gary Linekar and Sven Goran Erikkson. Since then McGowan has built up a successful theatre career including the RSC production Merry Wives: The Musical, The Little Shop of Horrors - for which he received a Laurence Olivier Award nomination - and taking the title role in The Mikado at the Geilgud theatre. McGowan has also performed in Art, Kafka's Dick, Endgame and The Government Inspector.

Alistair McGowan will be joining the Cabaret cast that currently includes Amy Nuttall as night club singer Sally Bowles, Angela Richards and Barry James.
