Boeing Boeing's latest passenger

Already proving popular with theatre audiences and critics, Boeing-Boeing has announced that from 1st October Jean Marsh will take over from Rhea Perlman as Bertha.

Jean Marsh is a well known stage and screen actress best known for playing Rose in Upstairs Downstairs which she co-created with Eileen Atkins, the pair also created House of Elliot. Marsh's other television credits include Bremner, Bird and Fortune, Sensitive Skin and Doctor Who. Marsh will also be on television screens in the upcoming mini-series Sense and Sensibility. With a rich theatre career, Jean Marsh was last on the London stage in The Old Country. Marsh has an extensive list of Broadway stage credits including roles in Much Ado About Nothing, The Importance of Being Ernest, Uncle Vanya, Twelfth Night and Who's Life Is It Anyway?

Marsh will join a cast that includes Tracy-Ann Oberman as Gretchen, Jennifer Ellison as Gloria, Elena Roger as Gabriella, Neil Stuke as Robert and Kevin McNally as Bernard.

The role of Bertha in Boeing-Boeing will mark Rhea Perlman's West End debut. Perlman's American stage credits include the Death Row drama The Exonerated, The Tale of The Allergist's Wife and The Last Night In Ballyhoo.

A reproduction of the 1960's comedy,Boeing Boeingcomedy that follows Bernard. An English architect living in Paris, Bernard has 3 girlfriends, each of them air stewardesses and each of them blissfully unaware of the others. With a carefully arranged timetable and the help of his long suffering housekeeper Bertha, Bernard has everything running smoothly. Until Boeing introduce their new turbo powered jet that throws Bernards timetable out of the window and his life upside down.
