A huge success critically and commercially, Avenue Q has announced it's extending its run in London's West End.
Since it opened in June 2006, this hit West End musical has been delighting audiences with its hilarious mix of Sesame Street (though there is no connection between this production and the television show) and some very adult themes. Currently showing at the Noël Coward Theatre, Avenue Q has extended its booking by 6 months, taking it to 27th September 2008.
Whilst it is certainly not one for the whole family, Avenue Q is a guaranteed night of hilarity and amusement. With a porn-addicted puppet called Trekkie Monster and songs such as "Everyone's A Little Bit Racist," "If You Were Gay" and "I'm Not Wearing Underwear Today," Avenue Q leaves audiences, as producer Cameron Mackintosh puts it, "laughing their heads off at what is a truly original musical."
