Valentine's cruising
Starry-eyed lovers looking for more than the usual meal out may well be tempted by DFDS Seaways' latest offering.
DFDS is promoting a selection of Valentine's Cruise Breaks setting sail mid-February from Newcastle to Amsterdam, and the Norwegian cities of Stavanger and Bergen.
All breaks include a complimentary bottle of champagne, three course meal on outward journey and access to a variety of onboard bars, restaurants, shops, live entertainment and casino. Accommodation ranges from Seaways Class cabins to Commodore and Commodore Deluxe cabins with private lounge and breakfast included.
Stavanger has been selected as a European Capital of Culture for 2008, alongside Liverpool in the UK. A three night Valentine’s Cruise Break starts from £153 per person, departing on 16 February for three nights including one night in a 3 or 4 star city hotel and boat sightseeing tour to Pulpit Rock.
Three nights cruising along the stunning Norwegian coastline to Bergen costs from £103 per person departing on 16 or 19 February, with a few hours to explore the city and its UNESCO World Heritage site based in the old harbour district.
A two night Valentine’s Cruise Break to the vibrant city of Amsterdam starts from £110 per person departing on various dates in February, or can be extended with a hotel stay for a three night break from £143.
