The island of St Lucia in the Caribbean will see an influx of tourists next month as it hosts its annual Food & Rum Festival.

Visitors to the island will be able to enjoy four nights of Caribbean cuisine, rum and music between November 1st and 4th.

One of the newest additions to St Lucia's calendar of events, the festival attracts top chefs and food critics as well as wine and rum connoisseurs.

There will be a number of guest 'mixologists' working their magic at the rum booths, including Toby Abou Ganim from the Bellagio resort in Las Vegas and Ian Burrell of London restaurant Cottons.

Taking care of the food will be Oprah Winfrey's personal chef Art Smith, former Savoy man Eoghain O'Neill and Duane Dove from Trinidad & Tobago, who is well known for his combinations of rum and chocolate.

The festival will incorporate dinners, cookery demonstrations and tastings of over 40 rums from across the region as well as boat trips along the coast of St Lucia to see the Pitons, the island's twin volcanic peaks.

Flights are available to St Lucia from London Gatwick, which offers airport parking and hotel facilities.

Airport Lounges - Escape the hustle and bustle of the Airport Terminal and relax in first class comfort for up to three hours before your flight.
