Swedish moose hoped to attract visitors
Tourism promoters in Sweden are hoping to attract more visitors to a remote northern region by constructing a giant wooden moose.
A giant wooden moose is to be constructed in a remote northern region of Sweden in an attempt to attract more tourists to the location.
The 45-metre tall, 47-metre long moose will have two enormous hooves planted in two separate counties - Vasterbotten and Norrbotten.
Located some 540 miles north of the Swedish capital of Stockholm, the site that will host the moose currently has little else to attract travellers.
However the wooden creature is hoped to change that, as it will include a restaurant in its belly, as well as a concert hall, conference rooms and a shop.
Local tourism promoter Thorbjorn Holmlund said: "The reason we decided to build a moose is because there is something magnificent about the animal. It's the king of the forest."
Many visitors are attracted to Sweden every year for its natural attractions, including mountain ranges, glaciers, forests and the northern lights.
