People travelling to France will have easier access to the south of the country with Eurostar from next year, a fact that has been welcomed by a property company spokesperson.

Holidaymakers will be able to access the south of France in five hours with Eurostar next year, a boost in access that has been welcomed by a spokesperson for a property company.

Ben Sanders of French-Property.com said that one of the most popular areas in France for investment and relocation is Languedoc.

He referred to its naturally warm climate and access to the Mediterranean Sea as factors in its popularity.

"Languedoc is the up and coming area on the south coast," Mr Sanders said.

"There is a new rail link schedule to be in place there by 2008. It'll be linked right up to Paris, so you can just hop on the Eurostar in the UK and be in the south of France in just five hours."

It is not only via rail that people can reach the Languedoc region, Mr Sanders explained, as there are regional airports in the area that are popular with travellers and local people.
