Australia targets Asian travellers
Tourism Australia has announced that it is "targeting Asia" and its lucrative corporate meetings and incentives market.
A trade forum is taking place in Macau next year and the group will take the opportunity to showcase Australia as a good location for corporate events.
The Team Australia Business Events Educational (Tabee) will be held between March 3rd and 5th in the Chinese city. It follows similar marketing activities held in Taiwan, Korea and Singapore this year.
Geoff Buckley, managing director of Tourism Australia, said: "This trade event puts Australian operators including venues, hotels, attractions, airlines and other suppliers right before buyers, agents and planners from the fast growing Asian markets.
"It is our most important trade event for securing future business events from Asia and is fully backed by our convention bureaux partners."
Last year international business travellers contributed around $1.7 billion (£753 million) to the Australian economy, with the average visitor spending approximately £375 a day.
