Qantas to invest in NZ services
Australian carrier Qantas has announced plans for a multimillion dollar investment programme to improve its services in New Zealand.
Grant Lilly, Qantas regional manager for New Zealand, said that the investment, which will commence in November, will see product enhancements of particular interest to business travellers.
Changes will be made to make airport movements faster and easier, complimentary newspapers will be offered at New Zealand hubs and a free bar service will be available from 4pm on weekdays.
Some AU$3 million (£1.3 million) will also be invested in Qantas Club lounges in Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington.
"With these changes, which will be implemented progressively from next month, Qantas will bring its Cityflyer brand to the New Zealand market," Mr Lilly said.
"Cityflyer is being tailored for the specific needs of our New Zealand business travellers, and will operate on the major business routes of Auckland-Wellington, Auckland-Christchurch and Wellington-Christchurch."
