Brazilian govt 'supportive of tourism'

Brazilian tourism is fully supported by the country's government and is set to continue growing as the nation looks to take full advantage of the lucrative industry, an expert has claimed.

According to the director of foreign investment research and information company Amberlamb, the Brazilian government understands that investment in tourism will have positive knock-on effects for the rest of the economy.

Rhiannon Williamson said: "The Brazilian government is wholly supportive of foreign investment and to the promotion of tourism interest. They understand that both are required for the benefit of their economy's stability.

She added: "The main area of tourism and investment interest in Brazil is Rio Grande do Norte, it is also the safest region in Brazil and the region receiving the most money in terms of infrastructure and accessibility improvement."

As a result of this investment and growth, Ms Williamson claimed that the region is now "easily and affordably accessible" from Europe and the UK, with flights from Gatwick taking around eight hours.

Construction is currently taking place on an airport in Rio Grande do Norte which, when it is complete, will be the fifth largest in the world.
