Canada 'looking for new image'

Visitors at the World Travel Market (WTM) this year will see Canada in "a whole new light", the country's Tourism Commission (CTC) has said.

The organisation will boast a revamped stand at this year's event, which takes place in London between November 12th and 15th, with 27 suppliers already signed up to present their services.

Among the exhibitors will be Quebec City Tourism and Tourism Quebec, who will be celebrating the 400th anniversary of the founding of Quebec City.

Maggie Davison, UK managing director of the CTC, said: "We are looking forward to WTM this year with our new corner position for the Canada stand (stand NA3000).

"Our 27 participants have so much to tell the world about Canada's innovative, diverse and authentic travel experiences."

In 2006 there were over 18 million trips to Canada from all over the world, with trips from the UK totalling over 866,000.
