Swiss to serve Bucharest
Swiss International Airlines will begin services to Bucharest next year, with flights available from London City airport via Geneva.
Flights from the English capital to Bucharest with Swiss will be available on a three-a-week basis from next April, reports claim.
Harry Hohmeister, the carrier's chief network officer, said the connection between Geneva and the Romanian capital is part of an ongoing development of services from the Swiss city.
"Our new service to Bucharest is a further sign of our commitment to Geneva as one of our three national airports," he said.
"And we firmly intend to continue with our current Geneva expansion."
Swiss also offers flights from Zurich, its main base in Switzerland, and Basel, as well as Gatwick in the UK.
The airline carried over 10.5 million passengers in 2006 and performed nearly 124,000 flights.
