Emirates' US tour continues

Emirates has continued its promotional tour of America with a show in Florida to advertise its upcoming service between Dubai and Houston, Texas and boost its exposure in the southern United States.

The airline hosted an event in Houston on August 29th and will hold another show in Dallas on September 28th.

Visitors to the Florida event were given a multimedia presentation about Dubai and Emirates as well as the opportunity to sit in one of the airline's first class private suites.

Services between Dubai and Houston will begin running three times a week from December 3rd, increasing to a daily service from February 1st 2008.

Nigel Page, Emirates' senior vice-president of commercial operations in the Americas, said: "We anticipate that the new route will not only promote Dubai and transit markets to America's south, it will also promote tourism and leisure travel to the southern United States from around the world."

The route will be operated by the carrier's new Boeing 777-200LR, which features eight private suites in first class and space for 216 passengers in economy.
