Stansted to begin serving Norwegian Arctic city
Norwegian, Scandinavia's largest low-fares airline, is to begin flights to the Arctic city of Tromso from London Stansted.
The carrier announced that it will begin twice-weekly services to the city in Norway from December 8th.
Daniel Skjeldam, network director at Norwegian, described it as "very exciting" that Tromso is being added to its operations out of London.
He also underlined the significance of the development, saying that the city offers "something special" to the market.
"Tromso presents fantastic arctic nature and wildlife; cosmopolitan city life; polar nights and midnight sun; and it's all a short low-cost flight away from London," Mr Skjeldam explained.
"The city is also a gateway to the Arctic with great connections onward with the passenger line Hurtigruten."
