USA's top Hawaii airline named

Hawaiian Airlines is the best carrier operating out of America to serve the island of Hawaii, according to a travel magazine.

This is the ninth consecutive year that the operator has won the accolade from Travel & Leisure magazine.

According to Mark Dunkerley, president and CEO of the airline, one of the major factors in its success and popularity with travellers is its in-flight service.

"Our employees have earned Hawaiian this award by giving customers the kind of uniquely refreshing in-flight experience one would expect when flying Hawaii's flagship carrier," Mr Dunkerley said.

The operator is Hawaii's largest airline, serving 20 domestic and international destinations in the Pacific region.

Earlier this year Travel & Leisure's readers voted Hawaiian the third-best American carrier, behind Midwest Airlines and JetBlue Airways, for cabin comfort, food, in-flight service, customer service and value.
