Ryanair expands operations from Bremen
Ryanair has announced that it is enlarging its presence in Bremen, with two new routes to Alicante and Palma de Mallorca flying from the airport.
The new services will come into operation at the end of October and bring the number of destinations served by Ryanair from the German hub to 20.
Ryanair's head of communications, Peter Sherrard, claimed that the carrier has now doubled the number of low-fare destinations offered from Bremen since April 2006.
"In September, our new routes to Alghero, Bratislava, Malta, Milan, Paris, Stockholm and Trapani will open and with today's expansion over one million passengers will enjoy Ryanair's lowest fares from Bremen in the coming year," he added.
The airline claims that its passengers will save a collective 100 million (£67.6 million) over the next year if they fly with Ryanair rather than German operator Lufthansa.
In order to accommodate the new route to Alicante, the low-cost carrier will stop flying from Bremen to Murcia at the end of October.
