Winehouse opts for St Lucia

Troubled singer Amy Winehouse has opted for a holiday in the Caribbean, media reports suggest.

On Sunday (August 26th), the Sun newspaper reported that Amy Winehouse and husband Blake Fielder-Civil had left the UK for a break, due to a reluctance to check back into rehab for drug problems.

A source told the paper: "Blake won't go back to rehab and she won't be parted from him, so this was the next best thing.

"This holiday has been booked for a little while. Her management and father thought it was a good idea."

However, the pair did not reveal where they were planning on heading for their vacation.

Now, the Daily Mail has reported that the soul singer opted for the Caribbean island of St Lucia.

Recently, St Lucia was spared extensive damage when Hurricane Dean narrowly missed the island.

The island's tourist board reported that St Lucia was "blessed" in that the storm caused only minor damage.

According to the Lonely Planet, St Lucia is "one of the Caribbean's fashionable package-tour destinations".
