Hollywood star Nicolas Cage might own his own island in the Bahamas, but the lure of a European holiday proved too much for the Leaving Las Vegas star.

Hello! magazine reports that the 43-year-old actor decided to ditch his island paradise this year and holiday on the Italian Riviera.

Accompanied by his wife, Alice Kim, the Rock star opted to follow a celebrity trend of the year and spend his vacation on a luxury private yacht.

Nic and his wife were perhaps relaxing before they experience the stress of moving to the new home they have recently bought in one of the UK's premier tourist spots.

The couple recently purchased Midford Castle near the historic city of Bath in south-west England.

The castle's previous owner, Isabel Briggs, said that the actor was attracted to the UK castle because of its privacy.

She explained: "When he visited in May, he walked all the way around the estate and decided that this was the place for him."

However, Nic was also probably drawn to the historic spa city of Bath, which other celebs - like Johnny Depp - call home.
