Lewis Hamilton opts for France

Formula One wonder kid Lewis Hamilton showed that he is comfortable with his new celebrity status on a recent holiday.

The driver, who is currently leading the Formula One Drivers' Championship, opted to follow a host of other celebrities and holiday near Saint Tropez this summer.

And, like Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, the 22-year-old racer decided to stay on a luxury private yacht while away.

Indeed, the Daily Mail reports that the beautiful yacht that the young driver stayed on is owned by an executive of Tag Heuer watches - a company which sponsors the team that Lewis drives for.

Staying on private boats and holidaying in the south of France is very much in fashion this year, with magazines dubbing the likes of Eva Longoria, Rod Stewart, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas the 'wet set'.

The travel guide Fodor's has this to say about this summer's hottest destination: "With the Alps playing bodyguard against inland winds and the sultry Mediterranean warming the breezes, the Cote d'Azur, or French Riviera, is pampered by a nearly tropical climate.
