Winter sun flights from Monarch Airlines

[9th April 2008]

Low cost airline Monarch has announced its new winter holiday schedules from Luton airport and Birmingham airport.

More flights are being introduced to the popular winter sunshine hotspots of Tenerife and Lanzarote in the Canary Islands from both airports. There are also additional flights from Birmingham airport to Alicante in the Costa Blanca and Malaga in the Costa del Sol.

"We're once again ahead of our rivals by putting our entire winter programme on sale before the summer months begin, and with more flights to the destinations our passengers want, we're giving them exactly what they want too,” says Monarch’s MD of scheduled services, Liz Savage.

From Birmingham airport Monarch will offer daily flights to Alicante, Malaga and Tenerife, and up to four flights a week to Faro in the Algarve and up to three flights a week to Lanzarote.

From Luton airport there will also be daily flights to Alicante, Malaga and Tenerife, up to six flights a week to Gibraltar, up to three flights a week to Larnaca in Cyprus and Lanzarote, and two flights a week to the Balearic island of Menorca.

"Demand for travel to the Canary Islands in particular has been huge for winter and we're pleased to be able to offer 15% more seats compared to last winter from Birmingham and 10% more from London Luton,” says Savage.

"Our core routes to destinations such as Alicante and Malaga remain strong and with up to seven flights a week to both airports, our passengers will benefit from having more choice about when and where they fly. We continue to offer great value for money by combining our low fares and enhanced onboard and on the ground services, such as online check in," Savage adds.

Monarch says it will launch its winter schedules for Gatwick airport and Manchester airport shortly. The budget airline was recently named as Leisure Airline of the Year.
