New terminal at Heathrow quicker than T5

Virgin Atlantic is celebrating its new terminal at Heathrow and Upper Class Wing in a new £6 million advertising campaign before Heathrow Terminal 5 even opens.

The Upper Class Wing at Virgin’s new terminal at Heathrow Terminal 3 recently won the Wallpaper Award for the world’s fastest airport check in. The business class check in enables passengers to move from their limo to airport lounge in around six minutes via a dedicated security lane.

The new Virgin Atlantic ad stars actor John Hannah and shows how precious time is for airport passengers, especially business travellers.

“Our new campaign showcases the speed of using our new Upper Class Wing and how quick it is compared to anything due to be offered by a certain competitor at Terminal 5. Time is of the essence for so many of our business travellers and the campaign proves that Virgin Atlantic has the world’s fastest airport check in,” says Virgin Atlantic sales and marketing director, Paul Dickinson.

Virgin’s new terminal at Heathrow was opened by the Spice Girls in December and is part of a £1 billion redevelopment of Heathrow Terminal 3 over the next 10 years. The long awaited new Terminal 5 at Heathrow is not due to open until March.

“This futuristic terminal will outsmart Terminal 5 by providing our passengers with a seamless, faster and shorter journey through the airport, and goes to prove bigger is not always better,” Sir Richard Branson claims about Virgin’s new terminal.

Virgin says that its new terminal is much quicker to get to from central London by car and by Heathrow Express than the new Heathrow Terminal 5 will be.
