With up to 150,000 passengers travelling through the airport, Luton is expecting a massive August Bank Holiday weekend. The airport will see an increase in passengers of up to 4% on 2007 figures.
With the UK's unpredictable weather, British tourists will be looking for the sun in popular destinations including the south of France, Canaries and Balearics, Greece and Cyprus. Passengers will be looking to take advantage of the pound's strong exchange rate as they look to travel outside of the Euro zone.
City breaks to destinations such as Barcelona, Rome and Paris continue to remain popular with excellent services available from London Luton. With low-cost airlines also offering great prices, the airport will see a big increase in passengers this August Bank Holiday.
Luton airport's Marketing Director, Natalie Raper, said: "With a constantly expanding network of routes now making up nearly 100 unique destinations, we continue to serve the requirements of both the business and leisure traveller. With the UK weather remaining poor we are delighted to offer the UK public an opportunity to at last see the sun.
Passengers looking to fly from Luton should be advised of liquid restrictions on hand luggage and that one piece of hand luggage is allowed per passenger.
