Work has begun on the refurbishment of the Northgate external control post at Gatwick airport, in line with new security requirements being introduced at BAA airports.
Lasting for six weeks, from Monday 23 June to Friday 1 August, the works mean that Northgate will be closed completely every day between 20.00 and 04.00 from Monday 30 June until Friday 11 July. Traffic will be diverted via Queen's Gate when the control post is closed.
Northgate is responsible for managing the access route for retail stock deliveries to airport shops. Once completed, the refurbishment will help to reduce vehicle queues in compliance with the new security checks.
Avoid delays at Gatwick by pre-booking Airparks Meet and Greet parking. You can drive straight to the terminal where your driver will meet you and park your car for you. You just need to check in and start your holiday.
