Biography of Brenda Edwards:

Brenda Edwards shot to fame in popular television series, the X-Factor. She won the hearts of the British public and made it to the semi-final stage as the last woman in the competition. The former accounts manager is now playing to full houses at the Cambridge theatre in the role of Mama Morton in Chicago.

Brenda Edwards was born in Luton in 1974. Brenda was raised by her grandparents and other family members after her parents were tragically killed in a road accident. She attended the local Pentecostal church with her grandmother from the age of 8 and soon discovered her love of music when singing in the choir.

Brenda Edwards searched for a break in music from the age of 18 and regularly performed at the weddings and parties of her family and friends and sent demos to a number of record companies, but her big break didn't come until 2005 when she got through the auditions for the X-factor. The mother of two teenage children wowed audiences when she performed live on the X-factor and has given astounding performances on the recent X-factor tour.

Now starring in the key role of Mama Morton in the award-winning musical, Chicago, Brenda is living her dream of singing professionally.
